Congratulations to Tamaki College Principal Soana Pamaka – Blake Leader 2018
Tamaki College Principal Soana Pamaka is one of our most favourite people. We congratulate and applaud Soana for her prestigious Blake Leader Award, announced on Friday June 8, in Auckland.
The annual Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards are the premier awards for leadership achievement in New Zealand. By highlighting the contribution of these Blake Leaders, the Sir Peter Blake Trust hopes to turn the spotlight on leadership in New Zealand, inspiring and motivating all Kiwis to make a difference.
A great supporter of the Manaiakalani programme, the world class digital learning programme, Soana Pomaka has encouraged and enabled Fusion Networks to start both the DigiTech and Intern programmes at the College for students, with incredible results.
“………Tamaki College has developed data tracking, mentoring and the utilisation of one-to-one digital devices in classrooms (in conjunction with the Manaiakalani Education Trust). The digital device initiative has placed Tamaki College at the forefront of the digital teaching and learning revolution. The school is regularly visited by educators from New Zealand and abroad keen to see ‘flipped’ classrooms in action. And the School Health Centre has been bolstered with a multi-disciplinary team to support student needs……”
Sir Peter Blake remains one of New Zealand’s greatest heroes. He expressed through his actions what is best in all of us – the propensity to dream wonderful adventures, the courage to pursue them, the ability to turn the vision into reality and the will to succeed.
“We are thrilled to announce the 2018 winners below, recognised on Friday 8 June.” Sir Peter Blake Trust.
